London, 22-26 October: Global Engineering Congress (GEC)October 22, 2018 ICE is bringing together a worldwide community of engineers to look at how we can create real change and plan how the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals can be met. The Congress will collaborate with global engineers, national and international policy makers, asset owners and experts from across the built environment. Global Engineering Congress: 22 – 26 October 2018, London Ian Nicholson, Director, CEEQUAL and Infrastructure at BRE CEEQUAL Directors, Ian Nicholson and Chris Broadbent will be in attendence to share their experiences. On Wednesday 24 October (day 3), Ian will be part of the panel at 10:30 and presenting in the Energy stream at 14:00. BUILDING SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIES AND RESILIENT COMMUNITIES 10:30, INSPIRE Stream: ‘Climate change – whose problem is it anyway?’ Stantec and Heriot-Watt university 14:00, ENERGY Stream: ‘Developing energy and carbon benchmarks through sustainability rating tools’ This presentation will look at how sustainability rating tools such as CEEQUAL can help develop carbon and energy benchmarks and will use some case examples to illustrate this. It will also cover the challenges of setting benchmarks in infrastructure, and what needs to be considered in addition to data if performance is to be improved.
